The White Hart Hotel is a charming 16th century coaching inn located on Lewes High Street. Following an extensive refurbishment in 2024, Heartwood Inns has lovingly restored this impressive building back to its very best.
With the addition of an orangery and roof terrace that overlooks the South Downs, four spectacular lower ground suites known as Luxe bedrooms, 19 further delightful bedrooms, a large dining room and cosy bar with characteristic snugs with original open fireplaces for all to enjoy, this really is the place to stay or pop into when visiting beautiful Lewes.
Our pub with rooms is full of original features such as original oak beams, stone Tudor fireplaces, oak panelling and stylish interiors throughout, The White Hart is a hidden Lewes gem.
Whether you pop by for a drink or a spot of lunch or dinner, we welcome all who love to indulge in the very best food and drink in the most beautiful of surroundings.

Looking to celebrate with someone special or simply looking to rest your head whilst visiting Lewes, we have a bedroom that will hit the spot! We have four Luxe Rooms that each come with a feature roll top bath and seating areas, along with a further 19 delightful bedrooms that all come with rainfall showers. Come and have a look around…

Our menus celebrate the fresh, vibrant flavours that this time of year brings. Our seasonal à la carte will indulge you in the best of what the season has to offer. Our Sunday roasts come with bottomless trimmings. Children’s menu, Young Hearts (half portions for older children) and even our dog menu – there really is something for everyone!

While we don’t have on-site parking, we do have a convenient drop-off point beside the building for easy arrivals.
